Juniors get started today at the Korean Open. We have a busy day with Mason, Jackson, Damon, Xavier and Bianca competing today. Jamie fights tomorrow.

Korean Open 🇰🇷 First up was Will who fough

Korean Open 🇰🇷

First up was Will who fought in a weight division higher than his normal division, going down in a close fight to India 1-2.

Tom was next against Pakistan, taking the win 2-1 and moving into the next round against a very tall fighter from China. After losing the first round, Tom came back to win the second round but unfortunately after slugging it out to the end, he lost round 3 with too many deductions.

Leon performed well winning his first fight against Korea 2-1 then faced the same player from China that beat Tom. Leon started well with a big face kick but in a rough fight, ended up losing 0-2, China then went on to win Bronze.

Last up was Saffron who faced a strong fighter from Pakistan but Saffy proved too smart, winning 2-0. Moving into the quarterfinals she now faced Japan who was very quick and sharp but again Saffy used her length to keep her at a distance and winning in straight sets again, 2-0. With a bronze medal now secured, she faced a Korean National Team player that she trained with at the Olympic Training Centre and although Saffy did well at a distance, the Koreans clinch game proved too strong, beating Saffy 0-2. The Korean player went on to win the gold medal beating China in the final.

Next up Juniors, they fight on Monday and Tuesday. 👊

Still recovering from a huge weekend filled with some amazing hard fought wins and some hard to swallow losses. There were lots of happy and sad tears all around. We always say it but we are so proud of every athletes performance, preparation and how they handle themselves after wins and losses. Even prouder of how they rally and support each no matter what.

It is such an honour to make a National Team, there a very few people that can say they represented Australia. Congratulations to Ava, Bianca, Mason, Damon, Xavier, Jamie and Angus for making the team.

The jobs not over though and it’s our responsibility now as a club to prepare these guys to not just compete at the highest level but to win and bring home that Gold. Bring on Bulgaria! 🇧🇬

We are so proud of our club and all the results we have achieved lately but the most important part of Notorious and what we want to be known for is how close our team bond is and how we all help each other achieve our goals.

National Championships 2022 🏆 Words can’t e

National Championships 2022 🏆

Words can’t even describe how proud we are of our team. Everyone that fought, coached or supported us represented Notorious with pride.
Nothing is as important to us as putting in 100% and improving on each performance. We are truely so proud of each athlete and the work and drive it took to get them here.

We had 50 fights, over 8 hours of priceless competition mat time and came away with 12 Nationals Champions. Congratulations to Stacey, Leon, Angus, Jackson, Jamie, Damon, Mason, Ava, Lucas L, Milan, Louie and Lucas T.

There were so many highlights but we want to give a special mention to Stacey Hymer who was competing for the first time since the Olympic Games. It’s not easy to back up that performance and a big credit to her for handling the pressure and getting it done with style.

Lastly thanks to Will, Tom and Leon for putting so much effort into coaching our fighters. None of these results could have happened without you. 🖤

Friday night fight night starts off with our Level 1 sparring class, where we spend 15 minutes learning to fight and 30 minutes taking our guards on and off 😂

In all seriousness this class is available to all our members and included in our Traditional TKD membership.
It is a great introduction into our sparring program in a safe environment with other beginners.
